DOES YOUR BUSINESS NEED THIS MUCH ACCESS TO YOU?
Oct 05, 2026
Being needed can feel good, especially when you're the founder.
You know the history. You know the clients. You understand how everything fits together, and you can usually solve a problem faster than anyone else.
So people keep coming to you, and you keep answering.
Eventually, you've built a business that works because you're always available to make it work.
What would happen if you weren't?
Could someone else make the decision? Could your team solve the problem without you? Could something wait until tomorrow? Could someone do it differently than you would and still get a perfectly good result?
Those can be uncomfortable questions when being the person everyone relies on has been part of your identity for years.
There may also be a part of you that likes being needed. That's human.
But if the freedom you thought you were building requires you to remain constantly available, it's worth looking at the role you've created for yourself inside your own success.
You may be ready to build a business that needs less of you so you have more of yourself available for your life.
